Huge D2E shoutout to our portrait of a graduate pillars of communication students of the month! Shelby, Hailey, Laylah, Sadie, and Hunter ❤️🤍 Please see their individual posts on how the teachers describe these recipients! Congratulations everyone we hope you enjoy your shirt, yard sign, and $5!

Laylah communicates thoughtfully during class and actively participates in every discussion. Her comments and questions consistently add depth to our conversations. She demonstrates strong self-advocacy skills and communicates responsibly about absences or missed work. Laylah shows maturity in all of her interactions with both peers and teachers. When she does miss an assignment—which is rare—she follows up with a clear and respectful email to explain the situation. In student council, she shares her ideas confidently while also encouraging others to contribute. Overall, Laylah is an effective communicator who collaborates well with both classmates and teachers. Congratulations to our Student of the Month for the October Portrait of a Graduate Pillar of Communication, Laylah Carlton- Boyer!

Shelby is an excellent verbal communicator demonstrated by the way she represents the FFA Chapter, school and community during speaking engagements. On Friday of the Sandwich Fair she spoke with Max Armstrong on the Ag Land Stage during the noon show that was also being broadcasted live through the radio stations. She was able to answer all the questions with firm knowledge and confidence as well as adding her own stories during the interview. Shelby also is able to run proper parliamentary procedure during the FFA meetings with no hesitation as members state the various motions, she is able to communicate back to them what is to happen next. Lastly, she has represented the chapter in the extemporaneous speech contest by writing a six minute speech in thirty minutes before presenting it to the judges. Congratulations to our Student of the Month for the October Portrait of a Graduate Pillar of Communication, Shelby Garbacz!

This month we are proud to recognize a sophomore student who demonstrates outstanding communication skills. She consistently goes above and beyond to keep adults informed, showing maturity and responsibility in every situation. Whether it’s responding to emails in a timely fashion, letting teachers know ahead of time about absences, or communicating when she will be late due to other commitments, she ensures everyone is always in the loop. Her proactive and respectful communication sets a strong example for her peers and reflects her dedication to both her responsibilities and her education. Congratulations to our Student of the Month for the October Portrait of a Graduate Pillar of Communication, Hailey Mathesius!
